What You Will Feel and What Happens On the Candida Program?

By Michael C. Biamonte ND.,CCN.

Being on a Candida program can be the most confusing thing that you ever do! Because of the following phenomena many people give up or quit a Candida program just when it’s really starting to work!

Any of the following could happen. Generally, people who are more constipated (1 bowel movement or less per day) have numbers 1 & 3 happen more then those who are not.
  1. Die-off: This is called Herxhimer reaction, named after the Doctor who discovered it. This means that you can get flu symptoms, loose stools, fatigue, headaches, constipation, itching skin rashes, vaginal infections, bloating or gas. This usually happens in the beginning of a program or new phase. The die off the gradually gets less as you near the end of that Phase or program. Phase 0 usually does not produce die-off. This happens because the dead Candida is making you toxic.

  2. The Candida test can get worse when you are getting die-off. Then it gets better when you are nearing the end of the phase! Sometimes some of the tests are better while others parts are worse. The main point is that it changes.
  3. Symptoms worsening: Any of your current complaints or symptoms that you had prior to starting a Candida program can get worse due to your body reacting allergic to the candida that is dying. They eventually get better.

  4. Ups-Downs; It is very common for symptoms to get better and the worse on the program like you are on a roller coaster. Eventually the symptoms stabilize and stop bouncing up and down as you near the end of the phase or the program!

  5. Feeling better: It is common that the first symptoms to improve are usually energy, clarity of thought or brain fog and bloating and gas. These are usually the first symptoms to clear up on a candida program. The skin rashes, vaginal infections and constipation are some of the slower symptoms to improve.

Any bad reaction on a Candida program can be handled by simply stopping the program for 3-8 days and then restarting at a lower dose. For situations where the reactions are less severe, simply lowering the dose for a few days allows the body to cope with the reactions and detox the build up of dead toxic candida wastes.
